What is the Audi Advanced Key?
Audi prioritizes comfort and convenience. This is why all new models that we have in our showroom include keyless entry and starting. This allows you to enter your vehicle and start driving while keeping your key fob inside your pocket or in your purse.
The system is controlled by proximity sensors in the trunks, doors and key fobs. Here are a few things you should know about Audi Advanced Key.
1. Proximity Detection
Audi proximity detection enables you to begin and enter your vehicle without having to take the key out of your pocket or purse. This system lets you unlock the doors of your car, trunk and engine by a single click of the sensor button on the key.
A proximity sensor based on sound is also known as a capacitive proximity sensor uses acoustic waves to detect the presence of nearby objects. The sensors produce an electrical signal by using an oscillator. This signal is then released into the air via an audio microphone, which transforms it into an audio file. The audio files are compared to determine their similarity and proximity. When they are close enough, the system will transmit a wake-up signal to key and will send an ID signal that is in line with the vehicle.
Proximity detection is only the first step towards a more comfortable driving experience. The Audi advanced key comes with remote start, which allows you the ability to start your car from outside the range of your key FOB. This is helpful when loading groceries into the boot, locking your children in their seats or packing for a trip with the family.
Audi pre sense basic, in addition, is a safety feature that can help you avoid accidents by taking preventive measures prior to collisions taking place. It integrates the data from several other systems, including the front camera and radar sensors of Audi side assist, to determine the probability of a collision and warn drivers. It can also trigger the automatic brake system at speeds of up to 250 km/h (155,3) and alert the driver via the head-up or virtual cockpit display.

2. Authentication
The Audi advanced key system connects directly to the car's sensors whenever you hit the lock button on your key fob. It sends a message to the car's system that confirms that it is an authorized key fob. This safeguards against unauthorized access to the vehicle without the correct key fob.
It also enables drivers to start their vehicles with the key fob that is in their pocket or purse. Audi's advanced key system makes use of proximity sensors in the trunk lid, doors and key fob. When the key fob is within roughly five feet of the vehicle, the sensors will detect your presence and unlock the doors. Then, when you pull the door handle or open the trunk the vehicle will recognize your key and kicks off the engine.
You can also use the key fob to activate the push-button feature of your vehicle. If the key fob is inside of your pocket or purse you can press the Start/Stop button integrated in the center console to start the engine. The car's sensors verify the authenticity of the key fob, and once it's confirmed the engine will begin.
The Audi advanced key system includes a keyless entry feature that allows you to unlock your car's doors by simply pressing the handle on the outside of the door. This makes it incredibly convenient when your hands are full or wearing gloves, such as when you're bringing groceries or kids into the vehicle. The system comes with a trunk-release button that allows you to open the trunk by using an action. This is an excellent feature to use when you're carrying a lot of groceries or children in the vehicle.

3. Keyless Entry
Keyless entry systems are an amazing convenience, especially when you're carrying your kids, groceries or other gear. You can unlock your vehicle by simply pressing a button or sensor located on the handle of the door (some models have the technology in the lock). If you're carrying the key fob, it'll send an alarm to activate the vehicle's sensors so that it knows you're in the vicinity and that your hand is at the button. This will help prevent unauthorized use of the vehicle by making sure only you are able to open its doors.
Another feature commonly included with keyless entry systems is the ability to remote start your car without a key. Sensors mounted in the tailgate or trunk, and sometimes within the doors of the vehicle are used to accomplish this. These sensors will turn on the engine of the vehicle and then unlock the doors when the fob is within a certain distance of the vehicle - typically around 5 feet. Then, you press an appropriate button to start your vehicle. This is a great way to warm up your car before you leave in the morning to go to work or when it's cold outside.
Some of the more sophisticated versions of keyless entry do not require the use of a key fob. The cars can be started and unlocked with smartphones. This is an excellent option for families or business owners who wish to provide their employees with an easy way to access vehicles for business. Certain keyless entry systems even remember the driver's preferred seating position and cabin temperature. This can save you a lot of time when you get to a parking spot.
Some of the more sophisticated variations of keyless entries systems have an activated rear hatch which will automatically shut and secure your cargo area with a single wave of your foot. This feature is available in a wide range of Audi models and may be an option in the standard model, or as an upgrade, depending on the model. These systems are not secure, and could be hacked by thieves with a little technical expertise.
4. Push-Button Start
Audi is, unlike other vehicle brands that offer remote starting from the factory, doesn't offer it. Audi offers a second option with the same features as remote start, dubbed the Audi Advanced Key.
While it's not a complete remote start system, this is a great option for those who require an easy method to start their car without the need for key insertion. This feature lets you unlock the doors of your Audi A4 or start the car by pressing one button. The button is located where you usually find the ignition in a conventional vehicle.
To activate this feature, you will need to have your key fob in your pocket and close enough to the vehicle. Sensors in the door handles and trunk will begin to activate when you and your key fob are within approximately five feet of the vehicle. Once you have a clear signal and the correct code, the vehicle will then allow you to close the doors or start the engine.
You can start driving your Audi A4 with the touch of a button and not have to search through your pockets and purse for your keys. This feature is ideal for those who spend long hours in the parking lot and is beneficial if you need to quickly warm up your car for a commute or run errands.
Once you are inside your vehicle it continues to communicate with your key fob. This is done via encrypted signals, which help to ensure that the system cannot be hacked. It also offers you an Keyless Go card as a backup, which is credit-card sized and can be used to unlock the vehicle in case the key fob gets lost or is malfunctioning.
